In this Digital Theorist Map, we are going to compare the works of Karl Marx and Emile Durkheim to show the sociologist theory views similarity and differences. The reason why choosing Marx and Durkheim to compare is because they have quite diverse sociological view, Durkheim had made critiques on Marx’s theories that Durkheim criticized Marx only focuses on economic factors, not doing empirical research, Marx’s ways of doing Sociology. Durkheim also has a different viewpoint on the region with Marx that from the divergence between them, we might have got some insight about how sociological theories build to meant for.
